How to Survive the Hockey Off Season

You don't like summer.. and we understand why! NO HOCKEY!!! Lucky for you, we're here with advice on how to survive the hockey offseason:

  1. Visit your favorite team's website daily (We took the liberty of adding the link above to save you time!) Check on prospects, the upcoming season's roster, and of course, the schedule. Check when the first regular season game is.
  2. Play street hockey. When it is too warm out to go on the rinks, play on roller skates or on your feet in the street.
  3. Watch hockey videos on YouTube. We recommend these! Other viable options include hockey bloopers, game highlights, player interviews and of course the fights
  4. Take up some non-hockey related hobbies (at least two, three would be best!) These can include but don’t need to be limited to the following: building model airplanes, wine tasting, book clubs, cooking classes, knitting, remodeling classic cars, a home or outdoor space, badminton, perfecting your recipes for guacamole and margaritas, master gardening, and if you must, golf.
  5. Attend some of our Youth Summer Hockey Camps (But only if you're a youth!) This includes our 2013 Summer CampJr. Blizzard AAA and Goalie Camp.
  6. Check out some overseas leagues. For example, the AIHL in Australia runs from April - September.
